Definition
  • A silver coin of Russia, of the value of twenty-five Kopecks, or one quarter Ruble. It was introduced by Peter I at the beginning of the eighteenth century, as part of his scheme for the reformation of the coinage.

    In Poland it received the same value, and was struck in 1842 and later.
