Dies imitating some earlier issue, made later to simulate it, most often for clandestine purposes. Examples include the "Second Restrike" rev. found on half cents dated 1831, 1836, 1840-48, 1852; the rev. of 1804 "restrike" dollars, dies of the 1804 plain 4 eagle, Nagy's $10 and $25 Templeton Reid dies, and the 1884 dies of Hawaiian type.
