[Typography] Matched set of letters (properly, upper and lower case) representing a single design concept. Letters on coins are mostly upper case; many were designed and made into punches by typefounders. The distinctions of oldstyle, modern, sans-serif, text or "Gothic," boldface, condensed, extended, italic, and script are exactly as in typography.
