[Typography] Said of letters without serifs (short ornamental cross-strokes at tops, bales, or ends). Formerly, horizontal, vertical, and curved elements were equally thick; occasional exceptions exist after the early 1930s. Examples of the former include 7600, 7772-73, 7932-35, 7947-48; of the latter, 7607.
