satin-finish proof Pubblico Deposited

Definizione
  • One with a surface a little nearer to "Roman Gold" than to matte; sometimes a little nearer to brilliant-proof finish than to either. Details of manufacture unknown, except that the coins were given extra blows from the dies; they do not show the cartwheel effect of business strikes. Examples include some 1921 and 1922 Peace dollars and certain commemoratives.
