Adumbration Öffentlichkeit Deposited

Definition
  • Adumbration.  A shadowy design or faint representation on a medallic design as intended by the artist. An example in a three-dimensional medallic design is a surface denoting a two-dimensional drawing. A Pennsylvania Institute of Philadelphia Medal, circa 1855, by Ernest G. Chorman has such a design.
