Alteration 上市 Deposited

定義
  • Alteration.  To change for reuse; as die retooling. A typical form of alteration is correcting a die in some aspect of design or lettering so it may be placed back into production.  Most common is to update to a current year's date, or perhaps to change the lettering when an organization changes its name, or, particularly for coins, to correct a blundered die. Altering an already struck medal is not considered an alteration (it is a form of chasing, counterstamping, or updating). See die retooling, re-engraving.

Altering a coin once it is struck is considered fraudulent, and is termed altered.

Altering a medal or decoration is likewise fraudulent but can take more than just a change of the item’s surface. Alteration of existing numismatic items is done to increase its importance or collector value.
