• Authorized.  Made for and issued by proper authority. The organization – public or private – which is indicated as the sponsor or issuer is, in fact, the proper issuing authority. Often for a coin or medal this is verified by the presence of a seal, logo or trademark of the sponsor within the design.  See official.
