  • Back Ribbon.  A ribbon mounted behind a suspended medal or other hanging or suspended object forming a badge, both items usually have the same header or pin from which they are suspended. Often the back ribbon contains additional lettering or imprinted details and in a contrasting color to the suspended medal or object. Fraternal badges often have back ribbons, some of which the ribbons are a different color on each side forming a reversible badge
