Broadstrike, Broadstruck Pubblico Deposited
- Broadstrike, Broadstruck. Coined without a collar; a coining error where a piece is struck with no restraining collar. A broadstruck piece always is a diameter greater than a normal piece, is somewhat weakly struck, and obviously shows no reeding or edge marks of the collar. Collectors differentiate broadstruck coins as centered and uncentered, the later does not entirely enter the coining chamber and is struck off center. Compare broken collar.
