Definizione

• Broken Nose.  A die variety found in U.S. Mercury dime series. The raised relief forming the bridge of the nose of Mercury is missing. What might be surmised as a filled die is actually where the obverse and reverse dies clsshed and the damaged obverse die was refurbished – retooled  – by grinding the clash marks off the die.
