Definición

• Conjectural Description.  A description of a numismatic piece which was not seen by the author but which is presumed (or guessed at) from other sources of information (as a missing item in a long series of similar items). The description cannot be confirmed, of course, until the piece is observed, then it is no longer conjectural.  Compare dubious attribution.  See cataloging.
