Cupro-nickel Pubblico Deposited
- Cupro-nickel. The term for copper nickel in England and France. All British coins struck in silver (sterling until 1920, .500 silver, quartenary composition thereafter) were completely replaced by coins struck in cupro-nickel by the British Coining Act of 1946, with the first coins dated 1947. The correct spelling in America is copper nickel.
