  • Diamond Pencil.  A sharp, crisp style of engraving most notably by Johann J. Kormann (otherwise known as Giovanni Jacobo Cormonpo, who flourished 1630-50). His engraving style was so charming it was said he had a "diamond pencil," thus any such crisp, sharp style.
