Definición

• Domed.  A strongly convex model, pattern, mold or die, or a piece made from any of these with a raised or convex background and the center higher and gently sloping downward toward the edges. When this is purposely placed in the die it is die camber. The opposite of domed is dished.
  A concave die would produce a domed piece. When two such concave
  models, patterns or dies are used for obverse and reverse of the same piece it would produce a medal of lenticular shape (and be called convex-convex). On nontraditional designed art medals, if one side is domed then this would be designated the obverse. (It is inappropriate for a medallic item to rest on its domed side, this would cause undue wear on its high point).  See concave, convex.
