Embrittlement Publique Deposited

Définition
  • Embrittlement.  A casting anomaly in which an area of a cast piece is less than sturdy where it is susceptible to breaking.  Embrittlement is an internal imperfection not easily identified by surface inspection and most often noticed after the piece has broken. The piece should be recast with careful attention paid to correct alloy formulation, temperature control and pouring technique.
