Flip-over Double Strike Publique Deposited

Définition
  • Flip-over Double Strike.  A coining error in which a struck item does not eject but flips over between the dies and is struck again. It will show obverse and reverse design on each side; the first impression being indistinct and mutilated by the second impression. It is impossible to detect a piece that had been capriciously fed into the press by a person, or a struck piece left in the hopper that is fed into the coining press and struck again.
