French Finish Public Deposited

Definition
  • French Finish.  An oxidized and relieved antique finish. It is so named because the process was developed by French medalists in the late 19th century. It is also called antique finish, or oxidized finish – the terms all mean the same. See oxidation, finish and finishing.
