Full Proof Public Deposited

Definition
  • Full Proof.  A numismatic item struck on a high pressure medal press or multi-stroke press with mirror-like polished surface dies on special polished planchets. Both planchets and dies must be treated and have a reflective proof surface. Full proof status is distinguished from prooflike, in which the planchets are not fully proof polished, or when the surface is the result of die maintenance and the semi-mirror surface is inadvertant.  See proof finish..
