Goldwash Publique Deposited
- Goldwash. A light goldplating after a piece has been bright dipped or polished. Since a minimal amount of gold is deposited – called flash plate – on the surface it willnot sustain any finishing operations (such as relieving or buffing in which case the gold quickly breaks apart). It is usually lacquered, however, to protect such thin coating.See goldplate, goldplating.
