Haze Público Deposited

Definição
  • Haze.  A somewhat cloudy residue left on a metallic surface after immersion in certain chemicals or cleaners. Benzine, for example, leaves such a residue on a numismatic or medallic item. Also inexpert cleaning often leaves such a residue. Haze can be removed with immersion in denatured alcohol, among other such solvents. Should the haze not be removed it will give a dull and unattractive appearance to the surface of the coin or medal.  See cleaned.
