Inside Diameter Publique Deposited
- Inside Diameter. Measurement from similar inside points within a circle. In modeling, the width of the rim is not always determined by the model. Often coin models are made with a rim but the actual rim on the resulting coin is determined later by mechanical means. Any measurement of the model including the rim is inaccurate. Thus the measurement is made from inside the rim on one side of the model to the inside rim across the face of the model. Inside diameter is abbreviated i.d. It is in contrast to, and should not be confused with, l.d. – longest diameter.
