• INV.  Abbreviation for Latin term invenit, the inventor or creator, infrequently found with signatures in medallic items. However, not all uses of this abbreviation means
  the Latin word; an Inaugural Badge for the McKinley-Hobart presidential inauguration bore INV & TICKETS – in this case it meant "invitations" (Bowers & Merena and Presidential Art Dreyfuss Collection Auction Sale, lot 5773).
