- Ivy Leaf. An ornamental leaf with five-pedal sections. A popular foliage for coins and medals where it is symbolic of Victory, somewhat like laurel. Used along or in conjunction with other foliage, ivy (Hedera helix) is less popular than laurel but often appears in wreaths.
