Keying Pubblico Deposited
- Keying. Marking, or the use of various mechanical aids, to align work in critical positioning; as properly aligning dies. A guide mark or guide pin and bushing are methods of aligning obverse and reverse dies, or parts of a dieset in trimming. See die alignment.Clichés are keyed by the use of punches at three or four places on the interface surface of two thin blanks; metal flows into the punch holes forming a key if the clichés need to be struck a second or subsequent time. See cliché.
