Lamination Pubblico Deposited
- Lamination. The bonding of two layers of metal, usually of contrasting color for visual effect, as silver laminated to copper, or to reduce the cost of the total blank (by cladding a desired alloy, the lamina, to a lower cost core). The clad strips are bonded during rolling (roll bonding during hot rolling, or explosion bonding – where controlled minute explosions fuse the two metal surfaces together – during cold rolling). See cladding, bonding.
