Layer-on 上市 Deposited
- Layer-on. A part of the feeding mechanism on a coining press which, like fingers, pick up a planchet and places it into coining position between two dies. We know that sucha tool existed in 1671 by drawings still extant from the Middleburg Mint in Zeeland, Holland. It is unknown if the Dutch had invented this or the technology had been developed elsewhere. (On modern presses it was replaced by an indexing plate.) See coins and coining.
