  • Left and Right.  The viewer's left and right; terms used in describing and cataloging numismatic and medallic items. A different standard exist for heraldic descriptions (called heraldry view). This is from the point of view of the wearer not the observer; but these are not to be confused, since the heraldry terms dexter (for right) and sinister (for left) are employed.
