• Map Shape.  Silhouetted medallic items in the shape of some geographic entity, as country, state, province or region. All the states of America have appeared as map shapes, as well as many provinces of Canada and countries of Europe. Those of most unusual shape (as Italy’s boot shape) are quite popular.  See unusual shape, silhouette.
