Definición

• Matting Tool.  A punch or chisel with pebbled, crosshatched or textured relief used in chasing to rough up a surface to produce a matte finish. Broken punches are sometimes used as a matting tool if the break is uneven and the surface is slightly rough.  See punches and puncheons.
