Maverick Pubblico Deposited

Definizione
  • Maverick.  An unidentified numismatic item, it remains in this status until more details can be learned about the piece. It is the duty of the astute cataloger during ATTRIBUTION to discern as many details of the specimen as possible, including what it is, when and where it was made, and, if possible, who made it. Among exonumists the identity of tokens is often unknown. These are published as mavericks in the token literature for other token collectors to identify at least the location, city and state, of the issuer whose name is often the only evidence on the piece.
