Metal Öffentlichkeit Deposited
- Metal. The hard material in which all coins and most medals are made. Metal is chosen for its permanency, for its ability to take a diestruck or cast surface, to withstand wear as a circulating media, and for medals, to be finished as with a patina, and to retain these desirable characteristics forever. See composition (2).
