Overtype Öffentlichkeit Deposited

- Overtype. The last design to be struck on an overstruck item where a previous coin or medal had been used as a planchet instead of a proper (blank) planchet. An overtype is easy to identify, though it may be somewhat distorted, in contrast to the undertype which is mashed by the die of the overtype striking. See overstrike, overstruck.
