Raw Edge Pubblico Deposited

Definizione
  • Raw Edge.  The edge of a blank after it has been blanked and before it is upset. Raw edge blanks have burrs on one side from the shearing action of the blanking die and cutter plate (a small amount of debris forms on the edge on the side opposite the inital contact of the blanking die). Upsetting removes this raw edge, rounds the edge and makes the blank uniform for coining.  See upsetting.
