Recut Public Deposited

Definition
  • Recut.  Carved or cut a second time; reworking a pattern or model to sharpen or strengthen relief or lettering. The term is not the same as re-engraved. A worker would recut a model (as in plaster) or a pattern (in metal) with any shaping tool. Reworking a die is called re-engraved, re-engraving.
