Re-engraved, Re-engraving Öffentlichkeit Deposited

Definition
  • Re-engraved, Re-engraving.  A touching up by hand of an existing die where the device or lettering needs improvement usually accomplished by engraving tools and punches to sharpen or deepen lettering or device. worn dies are generally treated this way to extend their useful life. Re-engraving, no matter how much or how little, creates a

new state of the die, causing a new variety in pieces struck from such a treated die.  See also die retooling.
