Refinish, Refinished 上市 Deposited

- Refinish, Refinished. Replacing an unwanted finish with a new finish on a medallic item. A tarnished medal may be refinished by stripping away any lacquer and progressing through the finishing process again. This often includes oxidation (sulphatization), relieving and highlighting, or replacing a patina finish. A knowledge of tarnish is necessary for the refinisher to treat any piece with usual blotches. Also a knowledge of chasing is necessary, as in most instances refinishing an existing medal may have a few dents or nicks. A medal without any major abrasions can be treated to its original finish, but a medal with severe imperfections may look worse because these imperfections may be emphasized.
