Remelt Pubblico Deposited
- Remelt. Salvaging metal or casting material by melting scrap or discarded pieces for reuse. Remelting implies the use of the material over and over again. Imperfect struck pieces, skeleton scrap, piercing and trimming scrap (called scissel if it has no dirt or impurities) is remelted for reuse of the composition metal. lead proofs and form molds are remelted for reuse of the lead. Paraffin wax, beeswax and other waxes are remelted for reuse of this material, particularly for intermediate reductions or wax modeling. Whenever sweepings are mixed with metal it is called shruff and is generally not remelted but is usually sold to metal reprocessers to clean the impurities before any possible reclamation of the metal. See melting.
