Retained Chip, Retained Diechip Público Deposited

Definición
  • Retained Chip, Retained Diechip.  A diechip which has broken away from the rest of the die but has not fallen out; it stays in its original position for additional striking. Such retained chips act most like an insert in an insert die. Inevitably it will fall away. A small diechip (say from the upper die) may fall on the next blank and be impressed in a struck piece; a larger size diechip may jam the press when it falls out and do considerable damage.  See diechip, broken die.
