Reverse Plating Öffentlichkeit Deposited

Definition
  • Reverse Plating.  A striping away of an unwanted layer of surface metal; the removal of the outermost layer from a plated item, usually silver or gold in unsightly condition; electrostripping. This is one of the early steps in refinishing a plated item, and, as a benefit, it removes tarnish since the tarnish adheres to the outermost layer. The electroplating process is reversed to take away specific metal instead of adding to it.  See electroplating, repair and restoration.
