Rolled Blank Publique Deposited
- Rolled Blank. A circular disc of metal punched from rolled strip stock, in contrast to a cast blank. Most all coins and medals are made from blanks cut from strip that was made by reducing its thickness from ingots or plates in a rolling mill. Strips for blanking can be rolled to a very precise thickness, ideal for the manufacture of blanks. When the strip is not rolled to the correct thickness and coins are struck from these blanks, collectors will call these thick or thin or sometimes with the word "rolled" in front of these.
