- Service Pin. A pin or emblem bestowed upon an employee or member of a group for length of service to that organization; usually such pins bear a number indicating the years of service. Often service pins contain the organization's trademark, are enameled in color, frequently contain jewels for greater distinction honoring longer year's service and are intended to be worn in the lapel. See lapel pin.
