Striker Public Deposited
- Striker. A die in the upper position in a press – particularly a drop hammer press. Strikers are sometimes blank (jack die) and drive the metal blank into the design cavities of the lower die. When coins were first struck by screw presses the upper die was called the trussell, a name carried over from hand-held dies of the moneyers.
