Supporter 上市 Deposited
- Supporter. In heraldic design the elements that are at the side (infrequently below) of a main device, as an escutcheon or shield. Coats of arms often have such supporters, which are often animals or human figures. The symbolism of these supporters amplify or augment the symbolism of the shield and follow ridged rules of heraldry design. It is similar to an attribute. For the device of Atlas supporting the globe, Atlas would be the supporter, the globe – when shown with Atlas – would be the attribute, a device to aid in identifying the person.
