Definition

• Sweetheart Pin.  A pin made for a military man to give to a girl friend or fiancée. The practice was prevalent in England in the later 19th century and continued to World War II. While the pins were dainty they identified the military organization of the serviceman as:  Royal Marines, Royal Artillery, Royal Navy, Tank Corps, Canada Service or such.
