Taper Öffentlichkeit Deposited

Definition
  • Taper.  A bevel or angle on the sides of relief and lettering on all models, tooling and dies. Such a bevel must be at least 5° for a die to strike and withdraw, or for a cast to be released from the mold. However, somewhat higher degree of draft is preferred for most coining and striking work, as 15°.  See bevel, draft
