Template Letters 上市 Deposited
- Template Letters. Preformed pattern letters, the masters used in machine engraving that pantographically controls the cutting point forming the lettering on an engraved object. In addition to English alphabets – in many different type styles – Greek and Hebrew alphabets are also available, other alphabets and available on special order. Letters, figures, punctuation and some fractions and engineering symbols are also available, as are religious, fraternal, sports and safety symbols as individual templates. Only one font of type is necessary in each typeface as size is controlled by the ratio set in the engraving machine – form 1 1/2-to-one down to 12-to-one – a reduction of three-to-one is preferred. The machine can also enlarge, cutting letters larger than the template. With computer-operated engraving machines (since 1970s), pattern alphabets are stored in computer memory and can be used to control flat engraving. See machine engraving.
