Working Model Publique Deposited
- Working Model. An unfinished model, not ready yet to be placed into production; a sculptural model on which the artist is still modeling. A working model is usually a plaster background plate with clay, plasteline or wax applied to create the modulated relief to form the device and lettering. At this stage it is sometimes call “clay and plaster” (and infrequently found thus in studio archives). It is interesting the gray or green clay against the white plaster gives dramatic evidence to the sculptor what is relief and what is background.
