Definition
  • Wriggle, Wriggling.  Cutting zig-zag lines to form lettering or decoration; the type of engraving created by a wriggling tool. An experienced engraver can also create such effect with a flat graver (by applying pressure alternatively from right to left while advancing the graver forward).
