Champlev&eacute Publique Deposited

Définition
  • Champlevé.  Enamelling applied to an incuse area of an object that does not exceed the surface table. Champlevé is a common type of enameling and is in contrast to cloisonne, which has fences around the area that holds the enamel. Champlevé enamel is used extensively as a fill-in for more expensive medals.  See enamelling, fill-in.
